Local residents looking to give an hour of their time to support their local green space are being invited to join the monthly ’60-Minute Heroes Weekender’ session at Rimrose Valley Country Park this coming weekend.
Taking place tomorrow, on Saturday 5th September at 11:00am, the community volunteering hour offers people of all ages a quick and straightforward way to help look after the park, meet neighbours, and keep local pathways clear.
What to expect
Led by volunteer coordinator Dave and the Rimrose Valley Friends team, the monthly weekend sessions focus on simple, practical maintenance tasks across the park. Volunteers typically help out with trimming back overgrown bushes, clearing brambles and weeds along main paths, and tidying up around benches, bins, and park signage.
The practical hour forms part of the charity’s Nature for HEART project, supported by funding from the National Lottery’s Awards for All programme and the PH Holt Foundation. Thanks to this support, free refreshments are provided for participants, and public transport expenses can be covered for those travelling to the session.
