Catch the Sefton Open at The Atkinson, Southport (PR8 1DB) before it closes on May 30th! This massive annual exhibition packs the art gallery from floor to ceiling, salon-style, showcasing a huge variety of talent from individual artists and creative groups across the borough.
The Atkinson is teaming up once again with its long-standing partner, the Southport Palette Club, to choose the pieces for this year’s show.
Founded all the way back in 1921 to champion local talent, the club is celebrating a massive milestone this year – their 100th annual exhibition at the gallery.
Visitors can expect to see a fantastic mix of styles and formats on display. While browsing, you can pick up an exhibition catalogue and vote for your favourite piece. The artist with the most votes at the end of the run will take home the coveted People’s Prize.
If you see something you love, you can also support Sefton’s creative community by buying it. Most of the artworks on display are up for sale through The Atkinson and the Own Art Scheme, making it easier than ever to invest in local talent.
