Active Sefton Park Nights free outdoor activities

Summer activities are returning to green spaces across the borough, offering free outdoor sports and games sessions for children and teenagers.

Organised by Sefton Council’s Active Sefton team, the “Park Nights” programme is designed to give young people safe, active, and positive ways to spend their summer evenings. The sessions are completely free to attend and run every weekday evening from 5pm to 7pm.

The program runs for eight weeks, having kicked off on Monday (6 July) and continuing through until Friday 28 August.

What activities are on offer?

The evening sessions are delivered by qualified coaches, though activities can vary and will be weather dependent. Young people can turn up and take part in a variety of sports and games, including:

  • Archery
  • Crazy Golf
  • Cornhole
  • Beat the Goalie
  • Plus many more team games and activities

Weekly Schedule and Locations

The sessions rotate across different parks and community green spaces in Sefton every weeknight between 5pm and 7pm:

  • Mondays: Lonsdale (Litherland) & Derby Park (Bootle)
  • Tuesdays: Potters Barn (Seaforth) & Abbeyfield Park (Netherton)
  • Wednesdays: Canning Road (Southport) & Rimrose Valley (at the field by Chaffers running track)
  • Thursdays: Duke Street (Formby) & King George V (Maghull)
  • Fridays: Killen Green (Netherton) & Bedford Park (Birkdale)

How to take part

There is no need to pre-book or register online for any of the Park Nights sessions. Families and young people can simply turn up at the designated parks at any point between 5pm and 7pm to join in.
