Kick off your day in Formby at the local Makers Market, held at Holy Trinity Church Hall on Rosemary Lane (L37 3HA).
Running from 10:30am to 3:30pm with free entry, this community event returns after its summer break. It features a curated selection of handmade, unique, and locally created goods from regional makers – ideal if you want to get an early start on gift shopping. The church hall also hosts a pop-up café serving light refreshments while you browse the stalls.
Afternoon: Southport Artisan Market
After exploring Formby, make the short journey north (a 15-minute train ride on Merseyrail) to the Southport Artisan Market, which runs from 10:00am to 4:00pm in Southport Market in the town centre.
Organised by Independent Street, this market features close to 70 independent small businesses spread across both the Market Hall and outside along Market Street. You will find award-winning local food, fresh produce, arts and crafts, and vintage items, along with live music and free craft activities for children.
