Details: Organised by Thornton Parish Council alongside Friends of Thornton, this free community bank holiday fayre offers a range of local craft stalls, games, and artisanal goods. Tuesday 1 September:
Steptember Launch at Rimrose Valley
Where: Rimrose Valley Country Park, Waterloo & Litherland
When: Runs throughout September (Starts Tuesday 1st)
Cost: Free to participate (Fundraising event)
Details: Following last year’s impressive combined effort where residents racked up over 11.6 million steps across the park, Rimrose Valley Friends are launching Steptember once again. The initiative encourages people to explore the local countryside on foot or by running, staying active while helping raise funds for the charity. Sponsorship forms can be downloaded and printed directly from their site, or supporters can set up a dedicated online fundraising page to track their progress.

Wednesday 2 September:
Story & Rhyme Time at The Atkinson
Where: The Atkinson Library, Lord Street, Southport, PR8 1DB
When: 11:00am (approx. 45 minutes)
Cost: Free
Details: Aimed at children aged 0 to 4 years and their parents or carers, these weekly Wednesday sessions offer interactive story readings and nursery rhymes. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Southport Photographic Society Exhibition (Final Day)

Details: Thursday marks the final chance to view the annual summer exhibition hosted by Southport Photographic Society.
