This is your day-by-day guide to events in Crosby, Bootle, Formby, and Southport for the week commencing Monday 20 July 2026.


Monday 20 July – Pool Inflatables in Crosby and Quiet Night at Southport Splashworld

There are two completely different pool sessions running this Monday to suit everyone.

Over at Crosby Leisure Centre, the Atlantis Splash inflatable sessions start today. It is a great school holiday treat for the kids, featuring giant pool obstacles, bouncy layers, and large slides.

Meanwhile, Dunes Splash World in Southport is running an Inclusive Quiet Night Session. This evening slot is designed specifically for children and young people with disabilities, offering a calm and quiet environment to enjoy the water park alongside their families and carers.


Tuesday 21 July – Bootle Bards is Back!

Time: 6:00pm – 8:30pm

Location: Kingsley & Co, Bootle

Booking: Free to attend, book your place at kingsleyandco.org/events

Bootle Bards returns this Tuesday evening for an open, friendly night of local poetry and spoken word. The evening is hosted by Ali Harwood and features voices from across the community.

Whether you have a finished poem you want to read, a half-written draft saved on your phone, or you just want to sit back and listen to local talent, everyone is welcome. The event is family-friendly, low-pressure, and completely free. Bring a friend along and support Bootle’s local writers.


Wednesday 22 July – Story & Rhyme Time at Southport Library

Time: 11:30am (Runs for around 45 minutes)

Location: Children’s Library inside Southport Library (The Atkinson), Lord Street, Southport, PR8 1DB

Cost: Free

Age Group: 0–4 years

Take your little ones to The Atkinson on Lord Street this Wednesday for the weekly Story & Rhyme Time session. It is a free, simple way to introduce young children to stories and songs while meeting other local parents.

Children must be looked after by an adult at all times. You do not need to book a ticket, but spaces are limited and given out on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early to get a spot. You can find more details about library events at theatkinson.co.uk/events/story-rhyme-time/.


Thursday 23 July – Include IT Helpdesk at Formby Library 

Time: 11:00am – 1:00pm

Location: Formby Library, Duke Street, Formby

Booking: Just drop in, no booking needed

If you have a question about using your smartphone, need help setting up an email account on your tablet, or cannot get to grips with your computer, help is available. Formby Library is hosting its in-person Include IT Helpdesk this Thursday. A patient IT volunteer will be there to give free, one-on-one help and talk you through your technology problems.


Friday 24 July – A Grand Night Out for Queenscourt Hospice

Time: 7:00pm – 11:00pm

Location: The Grand, 180 Lord Street, Southport

Event Details: A Grand Night Out: Southport Comes Together for Queenscourt Hospice

Finish your week with an evening of live entertainment while raising money for an essential local cause. “A Grand Night Out for Queenscourt” takes place this Friday at The Grand on Lord Street in Southport.

The evening includes fundraising activities and live music to support Queenscourt Hospice. The charity provides specialist palliative care for patients and families across Southport, Formby, and West Lancashire. Get a group together and head down for a great night out that helps a vital local service.
