Sefton NAS group relaunched

The National Autistic Society (NAS) – Sefton Group – that supports autistic people and their families in the Sefton area has now been relaunched.

NAS Sefton Group was originally founded in 2018, due to the recognition by carers that once their children reached the age of 16, many local authority and NHS services and support groups were no longer available to them. The founding members recognised that many of the issues they were encountering were also national issues experienced throughout the UK.

The group has now expanded to provide community and peer support to families with autistic children, autistic adults and parents/carers themselves.

They cover Southport, Formby, Crosby, Waterloo, Bootle, Ainsdale, Maghull, Netherton, Litherland, Seaforth and all other areas within Sefton Local Authority border, though welcome group members from other locations.

Their affiliation with the National Autistic Society allows the group to contribute to their ongoing campaigning on collective national issues affecting autistic children and adults.

The NAS Sefton Group is free to join – as a member, you’ll gain access to valuable peer support and the opportunity to be part of a collective voice within our community. You’ll also receive regular updates via their mailing list and reminders of upcoming meetings.
